The Role

The Fair & Responsible Lending Lead, reporting to Block's Head of Consumer Protection, will lead development and daily oversight of Block's Fair & Responsible Lending Program, including setting the Program's strategy, assignment of proxy risk ratings, interpretation of testing results, and development of board reporting.

You Will

Draft and update Program documentation (policies, standards, and procedures)
Conduct attribute reviews and manage related remediations and escalations, while also providing effective independent challenge to model efficacy
Monitor or test for potential fair lending risks or control deficiencies aimed at mitigating potential fair lending concerns
Make recommendations with the support of Regulatory Counsel for risk mitigation as required
Develop and maintain required reporting requirements
Lead Testing & Analytics focused projects regarding the following: Conduct statistical testing and measure output and Review statistical testing and output, while quantifying potential business impact

You Have

8+ years of Fair & Responsible Lending/MRM compliance or legal oversight, ideally with experience in FinTech lending compliance
Proven experience developing and managing large scale Fair Lending Compliance Oversight programs
Regulatory knowledge, specifically in areas pertaining to UDAAP and Regulation B/Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), including working knowledge of SR 11-7: Guidance on Model Risk Management.
A metrics-driven approach to create substantiated solutions
Ability to influence others and gain support around compliance goals.
Partner with team members of all levels

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
