About The Job:

City Light Capital is seeking an energetic, passionate, and intellectually curious Analyst to join our investment team. This position is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about venture capital, entrepreneurship, and impact investing. City Light Capital is seeking a team member who can learn and adapt quickly to a fast-paced startup environment and take on multiple projects simultaneously.

The position will be based in our New York City office.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate inbound startup opportunities and assess alignment with City Light's investment thesis
Support partners with due diligence of potential venture capital investments
Conduct market research on City Light's three sectors of interest (health care, education, and climate)
Help create quarterly financial reports and annual impact reports for investors
Build and review operating models and scenario analyses for early-stage companies
Help the team effectively manage/track a large seed portfolio (including portfolio onboarding)
Assist portfolio companies with research related to business development
Manage internal databases of deal opportunities and relevant relationships
Develop and curate a network of founders, operators, investors, and ecosystem partners to support deal flow and market insight over time

Requirements

Ideal Qualifications:

Strong academic record and excellent critical thinking, analytical, research, and communication skills
1-2 years of relevant work experience
Extensive experience in financial modeling and familiarity with reading company financial statements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated passion for City Light's mission
Ability to work with cutting-edge tech
