We are looking for a high-energy, ambitious Trainee Underwriter to join our Professional Liability team. Reporting directly to Tom Bongi, Head of Professional Liability, US, you'll get hands-on mentorship from industry experts while helping us build a profitable portfolio from the ground up. Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside underwriting team members and Head of Professional to learn how to analyze and review new & renewal business to grow and maintain a profitable book of general liability and excess business. • Support team members and Head of Professional in working with our wholesale broker partners to build relationships, communicate appropriate underwriting appetite, and grow our Professional products within established underwriting guidelines and letter of authority. • Support team activities relating to underwriting, maintaining, and growing the portfolio in accordance with the Professional business plan, strategy, authority levels and regulatory environment. • Assist with the drafting and review of policies, binders, quotes, endorsements, and cancellations for accuracy prior to distribution. • Continually review processes and procedures to ensure efficient working practices are in place e.g., identify process improvements, and escalate issues to Head of Professional. • Proactively assist with account management, portfolio management and achievement of service goals. • Embrace a working environment and the behaviors that fosters teamwork, innovation, and cooperation that operates well within Convex Group's unique, values driven culture. • Maintain appropriate appetite alignment between London and U.S. portfolios. • Foster strong productive and profitable relationships with producers. • Travel to meet with brokers, engage in marketing, and attend and participate in industry conferences as needed. • Travel to internal meetings as requested/required. • Execute on other duties as assigned by underwriting team members and Head of Professional

• Will demonstrate a genuine passion for building a career in insurance and are excited to pursue industry designations (like a broker license, CPCU, or RPLU) as part of your professional growth and development. • Have a proven track record of stellar customer service, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with brokers and internal teams. • Is tech-savvy, highly organized, great with data, and comfortable navigating cloud-based apps, and digital filing systems. • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, tackle problems with practical solutions, and maintain composure when deadlines are tight. • Asks probing questions and challenges conventional thinking to drive innovation.
