Job Description

Who we are

We’re the US Brand Experience practice of FutureBrand, a global strategic design consultancy with offices in Syracuse, Cincinnati, Detroit, and New York City, and the secret weapon to countless global innovators.

Through the unique combination of the insight and strategy expertise of a management consulting firm, the creativity of world-class storytellers and design innovators, and the rapid, in-context prototyping of a manufacturer, we’ve become indispensable partners to some of the world's best clients.

We make what should be, creating transformative brand experiences that bridge the gap between what a brand promises and what people experience in the real world, using a totally original synergy of behavioral design thinking and creative brand expression.

Our work works for a living, and we measure ourselves by tangible design solutions on the street, not awards on the walls.

Who You Are

You’re humble.

Confident in who you are and what you're capable of, but equally aware of how you can learn from others and continue to improve.

You’re agile.

Aware that work like ours takes myriad different forms and paths, unexpectedly shifts on a dime, and requires flexible thinking and working plus an unassailably optimistic mindset… and you’re here for it.

You excel at your craft.

Passionate and completely invested in the work you do and driven to do what it takes to make it stand above and constantly improve.

You're collaborative.

Excited by the prospect of coming together with co-workers, clients, and other partners to turn individual talents into extraordinary collective accomplishments by leveraging the diverse cross-pollination of perspectives and talents.

Most importantly, you're uniquely, unabashedly, unashamedly you.

There is no singular path to a career at FutureBrand. No formula for the perfect strategic design consultant. Because it's our differences in background and perspective that make us and the work we do stronger, more effective, and more meaningful.

What The Role Is

Our Graphic & Communications Designers solve complex problems and persuasively deliver dynamic visual solutions in a fast-paced, highly strategic, collaborative design-thinking environment. Whether designing a new package, collaborating on a brand identity system, reinventing a retail experience or creating an immersive omnichannel future vision, all our designers bring inherent curiosity, strategic design thinking and a human-centered outlook to work every day. We are looking for team members who will actively engage in understanding today’s human experiences in order to create and design for tomorrow’s opportunities. As Designer, you will:

Collaborate with our Business Leadership, Researchers, Strategists, Project Managers, and other 2D, 3D and Multimedia design teammates to deeply understand our clients’ business problems, participate in our strategic approach to problem solving and design solutions to meet project and client objectives
Immerse in clients’ brands, audience and market insights, and the context of each challenge to begin the design thinking process
Brainstorm, scrap, thumbnail and develop future ideas/concepts/workflows/frameworks in gestural layout and sketch form
Co-create with our internal team to refine and mock-up future solutions in forms such as renderings, physical and digital mock-ups, animation, and VR experiences
Learn to persuasively present our human-centered approach to strategic design problem solving both internally and externally
Co-create engaging and well-crafted presentations that evocatively tell the story of our insights, strategies, and design solutions via PowerPoint (and other presentation software) and multimedia methods
Collaborate with our creative production team to develop final design files for print and digital production

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/visual communications
