Job Description

Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Remote contract Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop material models and support novel analysis methodologies in the Mechanical Design discipline
Generate basic sizing calculations for reactor components
Perform mechanical analyses using the finite element method with commercial codes
Study ASME BPVC Section III, Division 5
Conduct technical reviews of the Company and supplier designs and deliverables.

Job Qualifications:

B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university and 4+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. in Mechanical or related discipline with 2+ years of experience
Engineer in training (EIT) or licensed PE desired
Recent experience with mechanical analysis software (ANSYS preferred)
Recent experience with scripting software (Python and ANSYS APDL preferred)
Familiar with material failure mechanisms and the application of design standards and codes
Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
Demonstrated hardware ownership
Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence
Strong communication skills desired
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and have a desire to foster teamwork
Actual position, starting level, and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications
Travel Required: 0-5%.

Job Details:

Job Type: Contract
Pay Rate Range: $52-$85/hr.
Location: 100% Remote Acceptable
