Purpose Of The Position
IEM is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our Fremont, CA location. Join our transformation journey as an early-career lean professional supporting kaizen activities, standard work documentation, and data-driven process improvement. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with a passion for lean manufacturing and a desire to grow in a structured CI environment.
This fully onsite role will report to the Manufacturing Manager in Fremont.
Key Responsibilities
- Support kaizen events through data collection, time studies, layout prep, and post-event sustainment
- Help document standard work, work instructions, and visual management tools
- Assist in root cause analysis, 5S audits, and daily tier meetings
- Capture baseline metrics, analyze waste, and support implementation of improvements
- Participate in lean training and mentorship from senior CI leaders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or equivalent OR technical associate’s degree with practical experience
- Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
- Up to 3 years of experience or internship in manufacturing or industrial environment
- Familiarity with lean tools (standard work, 5S, PDCA, takt time) through coursework or project experience
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
[Base Salary Range: 90,000 - 120,000 USD]
