Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Professor to join our esteemed faculty. The ideal candidate will contribute to our academic environment through teaching, research, and curriculum development in various engineering disciplines. This position requires a commitment to fostering student engagement and success while advancing the field of higher education.
Duties
- Deliver high-quality instruction in engineering subjects, including but not limited to Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Geotechnical Engineering.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum that aligns with current industry standards and educational best practices.
- Engage in research activities that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in engineering fields, particularly in areas such as Quantum Engineering and Robotics.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard for course management and student engagement.
- Provide mentorship and support to students, fostering an inclusive learning environment that encourages academic growth.
- Collaborate with faculty members on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and community outreach programs.
- Stay current with advancements in engineering technology and pedagogy, incorporating tools such as CAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, AutoCAD, C++, and Programmable Logic Controllers into teaching practices.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. or terminal degree in an engineering discipline or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in higher education teaching with a focus on adult education methodologies.
- Proficiency in curriculum development and classroom management techniques.
- Strong background in engineering principles including Mechanical Design, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), Drafting, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is essential.
- Familiarity with learning technologies and instructional design principles is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations effectively.
