Mechanical Design Engineer

We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and optimize mechanical and electromechanical systems for both custom and standard equipment builds. This role combines design precision with hands-on problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and customer-facing opportunities—offering visibility and impact across the entire product lifecycle.
What You’ll Do:
Design & Innovate
- Design and refine custom and standard mechanical/electromechanical systems
- Lead efforts in transitioning the team to Autodesk Inventor as the standard CAD platform
- Use Autodesk Inventor (priority), SolidWorks, and AutoCAD to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings
Collaborate & Communicate
- Work closely with R&D, production, and service teams to ensure design feasibility, performance, and manufacturability
- Participate in client meetings, system demos, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) to provide technical insights and collect real-time feedback
Problem-Solve & Improve
- Conduct hands-on testing and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to troubleshoot and resolve system and component-level issues
- Recommend design improvements that reduce cost, increase reliability, and enhance field serviceability
Lead Across the Lifecycle
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including assembly drawings, manuals, and support guides
- Support all phases of equipment development—from concept and prototyping to documentation, testing, and installation
Support in the Field
- Travel as needed to customer sites for system commissioning, validation, and FATs
What You Bring
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Experience designing mechanical or electromechanical systems—ideally for custom equipment or integrated solutions
- Solid grasp of engineering fundamentals: tolerancing, motion control, fasteners, and pneumatics
- Competence in RCA and failure mode mitigation techniques
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—comfortable interfacing with internal teams and customers alike
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (preferred), with working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and standard CAD tools
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) workflows and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
- Hands-on skills in mechanical assembly, prototyping, and system testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
