Design Engineer - Motorsports Industry Leader
Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Hourly Rate: $38-$48 (DOE)
Join a top-tier motorsports company in Santa Clarita as a Design Engineer, contributing to cutting-edge automotive and electrification projects across both pinnacle racing and commercial vehicle programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support component design and drawing development using 2D and 3D CAD tools
- Design automotive components, test cells, and electrification systems
- Execute concept design, preliminary design research, and detailed modeling of components and assemblies
- Coordinate with prototype and production manufacturing teams to ensure quality and feasibility
- Prepare and release engineering drawings in accordance with project timelines
- Perform design evaluations, analysis, and reporting
- Manage scheduling and documentation for design deliverables
Tools & Software:
- Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software
- Experience with CATIA V6 and 3DExperience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and standard engineering tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in automotive design using CAD software
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, standards, and codes
- Knowledge of mechanical and cost calculations, raw material codes, and design theory
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently
- Strong project management, data analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
