Job Description
A Mechanical Engineer analyzes, designs, and assists with producing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.
Responsibilities (includes, But Are Not Limited To)
- Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research and developing 3D CAD drawings.
- Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
- Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements, including evaluating and interpreting prints and drawings, creating BOMs; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials, and soliciting observations from operators.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
- Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
- Prepares product reports for SAR submissions by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information from products and suppliers.
- Interacts with suppliers, sub-contractors, and customers regarding engineering and production issues.
- Maintains product and company Quality Systems by implementing and complying with AS9100, ISO-9000, and all related government regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures, and requesting special services.
- Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Educations And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline is required; a mechanical engineering degree desired
- A minimum of two (2) years of work and co-op experience in an engineering/manufacturing setting with a focus on the design, production, and the need to work within systems and processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team with remote locations
- Maintain excellent attention to detail, possess organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills
- Able to handle confidential information in dealing with government contracts
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
- A willingness to work in a small business with a face-paced environment that is committed to excellence and growth
- Extensive experience with at least one standard program of 3D CAD design and experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
