Position Summary:
Our European banking client is seeking a highly motivated and analytical recent graduate to join their Risk Control team in New York as part of an 18-month Graduate Trainee Program. This program offers hands-on experience, professional development, and the opportunity to rotate across various teams within the organization. The role provides broad exposure to market, counterparty, and liquidity risk within an international banking environment.
This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates (within the past 12 months) who hold a degree in finance, economics, or a related field and are eager to launch their careers in risk management and financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Risk Control team in daily risk and revenue reporting, spread analysis, and liquidity risk monitoring
- Assist front office teams with new product implementation and strategic initiatives
- Analyze corporate client activity and assess associated risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments and global offices
- Prepare reports and materials for senior management
- Assist with data collection, regulatory reporting, and operational support
- Respond to internal and external queries professionally and efficiently
- Participate in rotational assignments across different teams to gain broader business exposure
- Perform additional ad-hoc tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (must have graduated within the past 12 months)
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities; comfortable working with data and applying quantitative reasoning
- Demonstrated interest in the finance industry and risk management
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of VBA and SQL is a plus
Additional Details:
- Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (occasional extended hours may be required depending on workload)
- Location: This is an on-site position based in the New York office
