Role Description
The Research Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the investment committee and portfolio managers by conducting in-depth macroeconomic and market research, analyzing financial data, and preparing comprehensive reports to inform investment decisions for our portfolios and commingled funds. The role involves building and maintaining robust data infrastructure, developing quantitative tools, and collaborating with the investment team and senior research analysts to enhance portfolio construction and communicate performance. The Research Analyst will also monitor public and private investments and assist senior team members in originating and analyzing investment opportunities across various asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research and financial analysis to support investment decisions.
- Gather, interpret, and synthesize data to produce actionable insights.
- Perform statistical analysis to evaluate investment opportunities and risks.
- Prepare clear and compelling presentations and periodic updates for the Investment Committee and investors.
- Understand, maintain, and improve the data infrastructure supporting the firm’s investment process and portfolio management.
- Build and enhance quantitative tools to support portfolio construction and investment research.
- Identify and resolve dataflow inconsistencies to increase firm efficiency.
- Monitor and measure third-party investments, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Assist Senior Research Analysts in collecting, managing, and analyzing research data and originating investment ideas across asset classes and product types.
- Collaborate with the investment team to develop and refine investment strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in financial markets or a related field, with a top-percentile undergraduate GPA.
- Strong understanding of multiple asset classes and investment types in both public and private markets.
- Demonstrated interest as well as ability to originate and pitch innovative investment ideas to an investment committee.
- Knowledge of Portfolio Theory and asset allocation principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Python, AI tools, and Bloomberg.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- CFA designation (or progress toward CFA) is highly desirable.
