Role OverviewThe
Project Management Methodology Consultant serves as an internal consultant responsible for ensuring that project teams adhere to a formalized and standardized methodology. They are responsible for maintaining, updating and communicating System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodology best practices across the organization. They recommend and help implement best practices and processes across the organization, ensuring that obstacles and barriers to success are removed.
Work Arrangement- This is a 100% Remote but it's preferred you in EST or CST time zones
Responsibilities- Recommends and helps implement best practices and processes across the organization, ensuring that obstacles and barriers to success are removed
- Anticipates problems before they occur and creates strategies to accomplish project goals regardless of changing circumstances, including the ability to escalate to appropriate levels of resources to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assists in developing and maintaining comprehensive methodologies and tool sets to ensure standardization and quality of program and project execution, organizational use of best practices
- Training, Coaching, Mentoring: Assists in the development of training materials, manuals, user guides, FAQs, etc. for all methodologies and tools. Assists in the development of training classes for all methodologies and tools
- Agile Methodology: Ensures teams are practicing the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility. Develops/refines and produces Agile project metrics
- Waterfall Methodology: Continuously improves the Waterfall process through evaluation and refinement of standards, tools and best practices. Develops/refines and produces Waterfall project metrics
- Provides guidance, coaching and training to project team members to build organizational capability and adherence to our methodologies
- Mentors/Coaches IS and Business project team members on our methodologies and tools
- Partners with project teams and leadership to drive continuous improvement in methodology best practices and delivery effectiveness
- Supports documentation related to project plans, project charters, artifacts, and standard processes
- Responsible for ensuring that all project implementations maintain required documents and are kept current during each project phase
- Supports teams in their endeavors to ensure all project managers and scrum masters employ standard project management practices for planning, scheduling, tracking and controlling their projects
- Effectively reinforces the proper use of methodology and tools, holds resources to the highest standard of quality and dedication
Education and Experience - At least ten (10) or more years Project management experience with large projects
- At least three to five (3 - 5) years of IT Methodology and Tools experience
- Strong Innovation skills are a must
- One to two (1 - 2) years of Training / Coaching experience
- One to three (1 - 3) years of effective communication & presentation skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- PMP (Project Management Professional) and CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certifications
