Description
The Atlanta History Center is seeking a rising, detail-oriented graphic designer to assist with a high volume of diverse work. While working on the marketing team, this position will require a designer who is confident working with Adobe Creative Cloud, able to design within a brand standard, flexible to work on every part of the creative process, and efficient in turning around requests with a high level of precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Graphic Designer and Marketing Department with production of print and digital design layouts, including posters, flyers, brochures, invitations, event programs, web, email, and social media graphics, and other museum marketing.
- Research marketing proposals and prepare decks.
- Collaborate across departments to support internal and external marketing initiatives
- Adheres to Atlanta History Center branding and design standards
- Support with other department duties as needed, such as content editing and proofing, staging collateral, and organizing marketing materials.
- Print, trim, and distribute design collateral.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Experience creating a variety of graphics (See portfolio submission requirements below)
- Possess strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Must have enthusiasm for the design process and ability to accept critiques and make necessary adjustments to design as requested
- The ability to use conceptual thinking in the design process punctuality and the ability to manage multiple deadline projects with thoroughness and attentiveness
- Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a BA/BFA or comparable program

- Experience with editorial design

- Experience with motion graphics, video, and animation
Other Requirements
- Satisfactory criminal background check.
Portfolio Required
Submit a portfolio of 10-15 graphic and digital examples of original works by the applicant.
