The Junior Financial Analyst will support the financial operations of the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, reporting to the VP of Finance. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial processing, proper allocation of funds, and providing insightful financial tracking and reporting to support our mission. To be considered for this position, applicants are required to have a working knowledge of Blackbaud – Financial Edge.
Accounting Functions and Financial Systems
- Maintains accurate financial records in compliance with organizational policies and non-profit accounting standards
- Ensure all income (cash, checks, and other contributions) is properly allocated to the correct funds, programs, or departments
- Track and reconcile multiple income streams including donations, grants, program fees, and special offerings
- Assist in preparation of financial reports and analysis to support management in decision-making
- Support internal controls and quality assurance for cash handling and reporting processes
- Remote deposit of checks and ensure timely, accurate recording of incoming funds
- Assist with preparation of vendor payments and vendor tracking
- Maintain an inclusive list of all vendor contracts
- Prepares journal entries
Other Projects
- Supports strategic and annual planning and participate in a wide variety of special projects, reports and initiatives as required
- Creates and prepares reports on an as-needed basis for management
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (must be proficient in Microsoft Excel)
- Working knowledge of Blackbaud – Financial Edge
This is a full-time, on-site, salaried position with excellent benefits. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or a related field is required.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, a strong understanding of GAAP, a working knowledge of Microsoft products with advanced skills in Excel. Preference will be given to those applicants that have previous Not-for-Profit job experience. The salary offered for this position is in the range of $60,000 to $70,000, contingent upon experience and qualifications.
