Mechanical Engineer – Service & Product Support
An established engineering organization is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support service readiness and upgrade projects for existing products. This role involves hands-on design support, change management, and documentation development. The position offers consistent collaboration with internal teams, exposure to product development cycles, and the opportunity to contribute to customer-facing solutions.
This is a full-time, on-site position with clear responsibilities, structured processes, and opportunities for technical growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical service upgrade kits and substitute components
- Create technical drawings, including installation and packaging instructions
- Build and maintain accurate bill of materials (BOM) for upgrade kits
- Develop and revise CAD models and product documentation using Solid Edge, Agile EC, and PLM tools
- Provide direction and support to production and field service teams during prototype builds
- Perform engineering change originator and analyst duties in PD Cloud
- Participate in new product development activities focused on service readiness
- Deliver support and knowledge transfer to technical support staff during kit releases
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain necessary technical data and pricing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 4+ years of experience also considered
- Proficient in Solid Edge, CAD systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working within PLM environments (Oracle PLM preferred)
- Strong skills in documentation, organization, and technical planning
- Ability to interpret and manage engineering change notices
Additional Details
- Office-based position with some time in production or lab settings (PPE required where applicable)
- Occasional domestic travel, less than 15%
