Role Description
This is a hybrid contractor role based in Orange County, CA. As a Content Marketing Coordinator, you will oversee and execute content creation, develop project timelines, collaborate on marketing campaigns, and support client brand development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong creative presence and organizational skills, with the ability to understand brand identity and translate it into content, messaging, and strategy. This role is collaborative in nature, supporting our creative strategist and team lead to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support client communication, including drafting and managing lead email responses
- Assist with client account management to ensure deliverables, approvals, and timelines are met
- Maintain organization of project management systems (Monday.com), shared drives, and assets
- Conduct market and social SEO research, providing insights to inform strategy
- Generate and refine content ideas in alignment with client brand positioning
- Prepare content shoot documentation, including shot lists, prop organization, and visual references
- Participate in content shoots, assisting with lighting, set organization, directing, and capturing photography or video.
- Edit content, including graphics, reels, short-form videos, and text or audio integrations
- Stay current with social media trends and adapt best practices for client content
- Contribute to brand book development, including logo and typography research, mood boards, color palettes, and collateral design
- Support analytics reporting and assist in compiling performance insights for clients
- Contribute to the refinement of internal SOPs, workflows, and documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, communications, or related fields
- Proven experience in creating and editing content for social media platforms (Reels, TikTok, Stories, Carousels)
- Proficiency with creative tools such as CapCut, Canva Pro, Lightroom, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong visual sensibility with an understanding of design, composition, and brand alignment
- Ability to capture high-quality content using iPhone or professional camera equipment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage deliverables across multiple accounts
- Based in Southern California with availability for in-person content shoots as scheduled
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Google Drive, Monday.com, and content scheduling platforms (e.g., Rella)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with marketing agencies or freelance client projects
- Understanding of brand strategy and the ability to visually interpret brand voice and identity
- Knowledge of social SEO and content optimization best practices
- Knowledge of basic analytics and how to optimize content for engagement
- Ability to provide creative direction or assist with sourcing props and locations for shoots
- Experience in industries such as beauty, food, wellness, or lifestyle

Role Details
Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Hours: Approximately 20–35 per month
Rate: $25–$33 per hour, commensurate with experience
Location: Hybrid (Remote with OC/LA-based content days)
Schedule: Flexible and deadline-driven
