Title: Mechanical Engineer – Enclosures Design
Location: Itasca
Pay: $28-30/hr
Full-Time | Onsite | Contract-to-hire
Overview:
We’re seeking two Mechanical Engineers to join the Enclosures Division — the fastest-growing product line within the organization. This group focuses on high-volume mechanical design projects, developing multiple variations of industrial enclosures. The position offers the opportunity to apply hands-on CAD skills and mechanical design fundamentals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical enclosures and assemblies using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Prepare and release engineering drawings, layouts, and bills of material (BOMs).
- Support design reviews and ensure projects meet timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with purchasing, vendors, and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues.
- Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with preliminary and proposal design work as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME required) or related technical discipline.
- 0–3 years of mechanical design experience (must have internship or hands-on project experience if entry-level).
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD required.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, assemblies, and design principles.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Extracurricular or leadership involvement (sports, clubs, or technical projects) is a plus.
