FieldBridge Energy seeks a Houston, TX-based Engineering Technician/Technologist-Dev
to work for the world's largest oilfield service company. Weekly pay + benefits.
Pay/Schedule: 60K - 90K based on experience. Monday-Friday, 8 hours.
This position demands creativity and collaborative hands-on work to design, assemble, operate and optimize prototypes for oil and gas processing equipment. Role requires excellent mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation, and a commitment to safety and quality initiatives. A strong background in practical mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering is essential
Responsibilities:
- Complete the design and assembly of pilot systems and prototypes, translating conceptual ideas into functional equipment for testing and research.
- Assist with realistic project schedules and budgets.
- Assist project manager for design, construction, and installation phases of pilot or prototype development.
- Size, select, and purchase equipment, and materials for pilots and prototypes.
- Coordination with 3rd party vendors and subcontractors.
- Interpret process, electrical, and instrument diagrams.
- Develop and document operational procedures to guide research engineers in utilizing testing equipment.
- Assist client or internal operations teams in the field occasionally.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, such as pumps, heaters, industrial instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ensure safe operation of prototypes and pilot equipment.
- Take ownership of testing campaigns, from planning through execution and analysis, to optimize prototype performance and assure data accuracy.
- Troubleshoot problems occurring with pilots and prototypes and work with the Research Engineering team to address unexpected results
- Technical Documentation and Communication, including test results.
- Assist in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluate projects for operational and safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Advise management on performance risks.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Experience operating, and maintaining complex mechanical systems, laboratory equipment, industrial scale process equipment, or small-scale pilots.
Requirements
- Understanding basic Oil, Water, and Gas production processes and operations.
- Instrumentation and control systems, PLCs, and PLC programming are desirable.
- Process Sensors. (Temperature, Pressure, Level, Flow, pH)
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment
- Industrial process equipment, valves, pressure vessels, and pressure piping.
- Interpreting process, electrical, and instrument diagrams
- Proven mechanical assembly is essential.
- Proficiency with AutoCad, Visio, MS Word and Excel are desirable.
- Minimum of 5 yrs troubleshooting equipment that may have multiple sources of energy
Prefer: Testing and working in a multi-discipline shop with mechanical assembly, building products with multiple instruments, equipment, and control systems.
