Overview:
We are seeking a highly capable Strategy Consultant (Contractor) with hands-on experience in captive finance strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will bring end-to-end experience in standing up and operating captives — preferably within the automotive, industrial equipment, or technology/fintech sectors. This role requires strong analytical, operational, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to translate complex business and technology insights into actionable strategies and deliverables. The contractor will work closely with client executives to assess current-state challenges, identify growth opportunities, and support the design and execution of data-driven business cases and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Captive Experience: Apply deep, hands-on experience establishing and managing captive operations, ideally in auto, industrial equipment, or tech/fintech industries.
- Comprehensive Value Chain Expertise: Demonstrate strong knowledge across captive functions including Dealer Credit Management, Product Management, Originations, Servicing, and Collections.
- Operations Leadership: Provide subject matter expertise on captive operations, identifying key levers to improve efficiency, compliance, and overall performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead and facilitate sessions with client executives to understand business objectives, assess current-state pain points, and align on strategic priorities for captive development or enhancement.
- Business Case Development: Support the creation of compelling, data-driven business cases for captive formation or optimization — translating findings into actionable recommendations and client-ready presentations.
- Technology Landscape Leadership: Advise clients on the technology ecosystem required for captive operations, including platform selection, integration requirements, IT security, and digital enablement.
- Software & Cost Analysis: Conduct cost/benefit analyses of leading captive software platforms; evaluate cost structures, functional capabilities, and vendor alignment with business needs.
- Status Tracking and Reporting: Drive weekly progress tracking, develop internal and client-facing status reports, and support review sessions.
- Documentation: Draft high-quality deliverables including feasibility assessments, executive summaries, recommendations, and presentation materials for client review.
Requirement Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in consulting, strategy, or operations within captive finance or related financial services sectors.
- Proven experience supporting or managing captive setup, transformation, or optimization initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and present insights in concise, executive-level deliverables.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, or fintech captive operations.
- Background in strategy consulting, financial services, or operational transformation.
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and loan management systems used in captive environments.
