Mayker is looking for a Design Associate to lead the execution of our home staging installations. This is a hands-on, in-the-field role where you'll transform empty properties into spaces that feel warm, intentional, and ready to sell. You'll work closely with our design lead and delivery team to bring staging designs to life—directing furniture placement, styling rooms, and ensuring every detail is thoughtfully considered.
The ideal candidate has a strong design eye and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You're equally comfortable pulling styling details at the warehouse, directing an install on-site, and adjusting a pillow until it's just right. Our delivery team handles the heavy lifting—you handle the vision and execution.
What You'll Do
- Pull and organize styling inventory and decor details at the warehouse—reviewing load lists with the warehouse manager to ensure each home is well-prepared
- Direct furniture placement and room layouts on-site, working alongside the delivery team to bring the Design Lead's vision to life
- Style each room with finishing touches—making beds, arranging art, placing plants, and accessorizing thoughtfully to create warmth and intention
- Work with photographers on shoot day to ensure each space is camera-ready and styled to sell
- Create a "shoppable" experience within the home—making it feel lived-in, not staged
- Oversee styling details during load-outs, ensuring decor items are carefully packed and returned
- Complete a Design Debrief after each install, flagging any inventory gaps or site challenges for future projects
- Provide input to the Design Lead on staging concepts and spatial solutions as needed
- Assist with interior design installs as requested
Who You Are
- Design-savvy with strong spatial instincts. You can walk into a space and know how to make it work—quickly and confidently.
- Willing to get your hands dirty. You're not above steaming linens, carrying decor boxes, or rearranging a vignette until it's right.
- A natural stylist. You have an eye for the details that make a room feel considered—and you know how to execute them on-site.
- Highly organized. You manage staging timelines, inventory needs, and logistics without losing track of anything.
- Flexible and resourceful. Homes aren't always ready when you arrive. Plans shift. You adapt and problem-solve in real time.
- Collaborative and clear. You work well with the delivery team, communicate effectively with the Design Lead, and keep everyone aligned.
- Comfortable on your feet. This role requires being on-site at homes, in the warehouse, and moving throughout the day.
- A team player. You pitch in wherever needed and aren't precious about tasks or titles.
- Not a 9-to-5 person. Installs happen when they need to happen—early mornings, late afternoons, occasional weekends. You're flexible and committed.
Who You'll Report To
Lead Design Associate
What to Know
- This is an hourly position with flexible scheduling between 10–40 hours per week, depending on your availability and project needs.
- This role is based in Nashville and requires regular time at the warehouse in La Vergne, on-site at staged properties, and occasional presence at client locations.
- While our delivery team handles heavy furniture, this role does require being on your feet, carrying styling items, and occasionally moving lighter pieces.
- Schedule flexibility is essential—install timelines don't always fit within traditional business hours.
- Experience in home staging, interior design, visual merchandising, or retail styling is strongly preferred.

- Mayker's staging inventory system
- Google Suite, including Google Sheets
- Slack for team communication
