About the Role: As a Heavy Civil Estimator, you’ll be at the core of our operations, working with detailed blueprints and proposals to prepare cost, time, and labor estimates. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of key infrastructure projects across Arizona. From bidding through completion, your expertise will help shape projects that improve communities and make a difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Break down blueprints, specifications, and documents to create precise time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Monitor and compare actual project costs against bid estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to refine estimates.
- Prepare thorough, itemized lists for materials and labor.
- Consult with clients and vendors to finalize estimates and resolve project issues.
- Participate in project site visits during pre-bid and construction phases.
- Share updates and insights at weekly management meetings.
- Lead marketing initiatives to expand company visibility with developers and contractors.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction, including excavation, underground utilities, paving, water/wastewater systems, and structural projects.
- Proven ability to create accurate, detailed cost estimates and project proposals.
- 3+ years of civil construction experience, with hands-on involvement in various project stages.
- Sharp math skills (algebra, geometry), blueprint reading, and drafting.
- Ability to present clear, professional, and compelling proposals.
- Effective communicator, able to work closely with a range of team members and clients.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production methods, and quality control processes.
- A strong sense of prioritization and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Civil Engineering.
- 2+ years of industry experience OR equivalent relevant training/experience combination.
