We currently seek a Chemical Engineer – Plant & Factory to help support our Norcross, GA location.
This position, under general supervision, oversees the operation and maintenance of the chemical delivery systems, industrial wastewater systems, and air pollution abatement systems. You will provide technical guidance to Trades and/or contractors for modifications, optimization, and configuration to ensure reliability and performance of these systems in support of production operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a safe work environment through identification and correction of unsafe conditions and be a role model in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Write and/or maintain procedural instructions needed to operate and perform maintenance on chemical delivery, wastewater treatment, and air pollution abatement equipment. This includes standard operating procedures, lock out/tag out procedures, maintenance procedures, etc.
- Maintain records of chemical usage and work with the Accounting Department to report monthly inventories.
- Utilize database systems to monitor, track, and issue reports of equipment performance and early detection of potential problems.
- Be knowledgeable about the chemicals used in the facility and work with Trades to maintain the integrity of, both ultra-high purity systems, and the industrial, chemical delivery systems.
- Trouble shoot problems related to chemical delivery, wastewater treatment, and air pollution abatement systems and equipment as they arise.
- Organize semi-annual shut down work needed to clean primary scrubber systems and performance of non-routine maintenance.
- Support production on projects that affect or are associated with chemical delivery, wastewater treatment, and air pollution abatement systems.
- Design and implement modifications to chemical delivery, wastewater treatment, and air pollution abatement systems for improved operation and/or reduced cost of operation.
- Complete other projects, as assigned, in support of production.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
- Preferred areas of study include Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering
- Prior experience preferred
