The Quality Inspector is responsible for the direct inspection, measurement, and testing of products at various stages of production. This role ensures that all raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods strictly adhere to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards, serving as the frontline guardian of product quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools; Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Accurately document all inspection results and maintain clear, detailed quality records.
- Identify, segregate, and tag non-conforming products, and support the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
- Utilize and maintain calibrated measurement equipment, supporting Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities.
- Assist in the containment and verification of corrective actions for quality issues.
- Uphold a safe and organized work environment, complying with all company and OSHA safety procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate or associate degree in a related field is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment; automotive experience is a significant advantage
Demonstrated proficiency in using basic and advanced metrology equipment. Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is a strong plus.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification.
Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
