POSITION SUMMARY:
Implement manufacturing methods and processes to improve product efficiency during the product development phase and then transition into the production phase. Analyze part design, part workflow, and manufacturing methods and processes to maximize product and process efficiencies.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create 3D models and drawings to support the manufacturing process.
· Update processes in SolidWorks and the Amada 4i environment to foster work efficiency.
·Assure and verify compliance of manufacturing methods and processes with approved methods, quality requirements and standards as defined on 3D drawings, customer specifications and purchase order requirements as directed by the assigned Project Manager.
·Submit SPS to the customer to clarify design issues and recommend alternate solutions that exceed the requirements.
·Oversee the incorporation and maintenance of customer-issued drawings and all other process changes, which may include Engineering Change Orders, into the systems and assigned processes.
·Responsible for the oversight of product repairs, reworks, and Non-Conforming Material Report disposition and root cause validation.
·Work with Quality to perform the disposition of pre-SCAR and SCAR non-conformances and take appropriate actions to support all respective vendors, including site visits as required.
·Interact with other related disciplines within the facility to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
·Perform process validations through a hands-on review by witnessing the performance of operations and discussions with all involved shop personnel, manufacturing personnel, and other engineering personnel.
·Monitor and verify tasks for assigned engineering processes are completed according to published milestone plans.
·Perform duties and responsibilities related to this position as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
·Responsible for supporting NPI process for assigned manufacturing projects.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably related to sheet metal and/or machining
- Knowledge of Excel, SolidWorks and print reading is required.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles and application in design documentation.
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems is essential.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across various disciplines.
