Job Title: Field IT Technician – Managed Services (Hilliard IT Solutions)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field IT Technician to join our team. This role is key to supporting our managed services clients with onsite and project-based technical work. Unlike a traditional help desk role, this position will focus heavily on hands‑on implementation, troubleshooting, and customer onboarding rather than ticket-driven support.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with diverse client environments, have strong interpersonal skills, and bring experience in IT systems and networking—preferably in an MSP setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite IT work for client projects, including:
- Installing and configuring phone systems, network equipment, servers, and racks
- Troubleshooting internet and ISP connectivity issues
- Provide pre‑sales support by joining prospect meetings to perform initial technical assessments
- Lead new client onboarding post‑sale:
- Deploying and configuring tools, agents, and software on endpoints
- Documenting client infrastructure and systems into IT Glue
- Work directly with clients in a professional manner, building trust through effective communication and solutions-oriented service
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure smooth project delivery and account handoffs
- Stay current on new technologies and solutions relevant to client environments
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on IT support or technical field experience (MSP experience preferred but not required)
- Working knowledge of networking, servers, and endpoint systems
- Experience with phone systems, firewalls, and ISP troubleshooting a plus
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, especially with tools like IT Glue, Connectwise or similar platforms
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and comfortable working in dynamic client environments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed

Pay: $24.98 - $30.08 per hour
