Position Overview:
The JDE CNC Administrator (Configurable Network Computing Administrator) is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1) ERP systems. This role focuses on ensuring system stability, performance, and security across client-server architectures, often involving IBM iSeries (AS/400) DB2 databases, Unix environments, and web servers. The position requires strong technical expertise in CNC tools, troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT teams, developers, and end-users to manage upgrades, deployments, and daily operations. This is a critical role in ERP environments, blending system administration with ERP-specific configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Environment Management
·Install, configure, and maintain JDE EnterpriseOne environments (DV, PY, PD, CNC)
·Manage deployment servers, JAS servers, WebLogic/WebSphere servers
·Monitor system performance, logs & ensure uptime and stability
·Perform kernel configuration and tuning
Database & Server Management
·Work closely with DBA teams (Oracle / SQL Server)
·Monitor database stability & performance related to JDE
·Support Linux/Windows OS environments
Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide daily CNC support and environment refreshes
- Diagnose and resolve CNC issues, package failures, login issues, system outage, etc.
- Coordinate with business users, functional consultants, and developers
Backup, Monitoring & Security
- Maintain system audit trails & security compliance
- Perform JDE backups, scheduler jobs, CNC scripts and automation
- Support disaster recovery planning & execution
CNC Operations
- Perform Package Build, Promotion, and Deployment
- Manage Object Management Workbench (OMW)
- Implement ESUs, ASUs, Tools Upgrades, and maintenance packs
- Administer server manager and JDE security (roles, users, menus)
Integrations & Tools
- Configure & support:
- JDE Orchestrator
- BSSV / RTE / AIS server
- BI Publisher / E1 Pages
- UDO management
Skills & Competencies:
Must-Have
- 10+ years of experience as a JDE CNC Administrator
- Strong knowledge of:
- JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.x
- Package build & deployments
- OMW, Server Manager
- Web servers: WebLogic/WebSphere
- Database systems: Oracle / SQL Server
- Windows & Linux OS
Good To Have
- Experience with JDE upgrade or cloud hosting (AWS / Azure / OCI)
- Knowledge of security auditing & compliance
- Familiarity with scripting (Unix shell / PowerShell / Python)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
- Oracle JD Edwards certifications preferred (e.g., CNC Administrator, EnterpriseOne).
