Stonegate is hiring a Research Analyst who will work on the equity research team. This is an entry level position that has the potential to evolve at the firm. We are open to speaking to professionals with more experience and would adjust the salary accordingly.
The ideal candidate will be local to Dallas as most of our team is in-office, however, we are open to all candidates and would consider full work from home. We are flexible with start dates within the next 6 months. We are not considering Winter ’26 graduates and beyond.
This role is intended for candidates who want to build a career in equity research or are enrolled in the CFA program. We will provide all the training and mentorship required in addition to paying for all study materials and costs associated with professional designations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Learning the business model and financial characteristics of our client companies
- Perform due diligence on companies including: company fundamental analysis, industry analysis, valuation analysis, and conference calls
- Writing company initiations based on filings and presentations
- Collaboration with Head of Research on earnings call preparation and asking questions on the earnings calls
- Managing new and existing client relationships with C-level executives
- Assisting our Head of Research in writing research reports
- Basic modeling and report preparation
- Financial forecasting and valuation
- Additional ad hoc projects across the firm as needed during slow periods (Equity research tends to be very cyclically busy around Client’s earnings releases)
Qualifications (Required):
- Undergraduate Degree
- 0-2 years of experience
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Organized, dependable, analytically oriented team player
- As a small firm we run on highly self-motivated individuals
- This position requires U.S. work authorization and does not offer visa sponsorship
Qualifications (Preferred, Not Required):
- Experience in equity research
- Experience writing articles, reports, or other published non-fiction
- Familiarity with basic accounting and finance concepts
- Familiarity with S&P CapitalIQ
