Job Description
We’re looking for a versatile and driven Help Desk Technician to join our support team! This role provides technical assistance for both software and hardware issues, requiring someone who can thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to occasionally travel overnight (approximately once per week, scheduled randomly) and participate in an on-call rotation outside the standard 8 AM – 5 PM shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to technical support tickets related to both software and hardware issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve Windows workstation problems, application errors, and network issues
- Configure, install, and maintain PCs, printers, and related peripherals
- Assist with software installations, updates, and configurations
- Document and escalate issues when necessary for further resolution
- Provide remote and on-site support as needed
- Participate in an on-call support rotation outside standard business hours
- Be available for overnight travel, typically once per week, with advance notice
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Windows environments (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic support environment
- Ability to travel overnight once a week, sometimes on short notice
- Must be comfortable participating in on-call support outside regular hours
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems
- Experience supporting Point of Sale (POS) systems, printers, and peripherals
- Basic networking knowledge (IP, DHCP, DNS)
- Comfort with both hardware diagnostics and software support
- Previous experience in nonprofit, bingo, or VFW-type environments a plus
Schedule & Compensation
- Core Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-Call Support: Rotating evenings and weekends
- Overnight Travel: Typically once per week, varies by assignment
- Pay: $16
