We have an immediate need for a motivated, career-oriented individual who is passionate about performing hands on work as a Manufacturing Engineer in our growing Peru, IN facility.
The Manufacturing Engineer will evaluate work processes to determine strategies and programs which provide greater productivity and efficiency of production functions by performing the following duties:
· Establish, implement, and maintain a quality process program throughout the plant in accordance with quality standardsadvocated by the company (including: all applicable ISO 9001 processes and procedures, etc.)
· Provide technical support for production area staff.Improve production through the implementation of new processes and equipment.
· Create assembly drawings of equipment, fixtures & electrical diagrams using AutoCAD.
· Create & update OMS documents as used in the manufacturing process.
· Troubleshoot equipment or machine problems that are used on the floor for production.
· Respond to feedback and improvement suggestions from operators about safety, processes, machines, fixtures, and other equipment.
· Utilize machine performance systems such as OEE Reader, e-VSM, etc. for data acquisition and analysis.
· Oversee the installation and startup of new equipment and initiate any modifications, as they become necessary.
· Train operators on new equipment and answer any questions they might have.
· Investigate, develop, propose and implement cost saving measures regarding the manufacture of products.
· Research and order materials needed to complete tasks.
· Gather information to evaluate current work processes to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration using Lean and Six Sigma and other continuous improvement concepts.
· Travel to other Heraeus locations, domestic and international as needed.
Qualifications
- MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE US WITHOUT REQUIRING SPONSORSHIP NOW OR IN THE FUTURE
- Minimum of a Four-Year College Degree (Engineering Field – preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial) or equivalent combination of degree and working experience.
· Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical design
· Minimum of two years process-engineering experience
· Prior experience working in a team-based environment
· Prior experience in PLCs, AutoCad, assembly operations, and metal fabrication
· Prior experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facility
· Prior experience in the successful selection, justification and installation of capital equipment
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and correctly identify required repairs
· Prior experience and training in Lean and Six Sigma
Computer Skills: Computer literate in basic application software systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Visio, SAP, AutoCad, minitab, web-based applications, Teams, etc.)
