Position Overview
The Finance Manager oversees operational accounting transactions to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and effective internal controls. This role supports senior leadership by providing economic insights and managing core accounting processes.

Financial Reporting
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and budget-to-actual analyses.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Work with external auditors to provide required schedules for the annual accounting review.
- Support the executive team with relevant financial data and reports.
Accounting Operations
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee daily banking activities and perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash positions and report weekly to the President.
- Ensure daily cash balance reporting and month-end closings by the 5th working day, or the 7th for quarter-end.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure financial data accuracy.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns.
- Stay informed about changes in tax regulations affecting the LBM industry.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets.
- Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenses and provide variance analyses.
Internal Controls and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Support audit preparation and assist external auditors as needed.
Cash Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and manage cash requirements.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure operational funding needs are met.
Team Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with team members and departments.
- Provide training and support to enhance team effectiveness.
- Promote a collaborative and positive work environment.
Systems and Process Improvement
- Collaborate with systems providers and consultants to improve accounting systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
Communication and Collaboration
- Partner with department managers for accurate financial tracking.
- Maintain regular communication with the Director of Business Operations and President regarding financial performance and needs.
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinate with HR on payroll, benefits, and compliance matters.
- Support special projects and leadership initiatives as assigned.
Performance Expectations
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Meet deadlines for month-end close and assigned projects.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and suggest process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, and team collaboration.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
- Office environment with moderate noise levels.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Licenses/Certifications
- A valid driver's license may be required for occasional travel.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
