Job Knowledge, Training and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 3 years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role managing an enterprise network consisting of 250+ networked devices. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Preferred:
5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, plus 5 years of experience as Tier 2 or 3 Support.
Experience in an Industrial Control System or SCADA environment.
Extensive professional experience in the following:
- Microsoft Active Directory Management and Administration
- Email Server (Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft Exchange Online)
- Microsoft SQL Server Management and Administration
- Linux Management and Administration (RedHat Enterprise Linux)
- RedHat Ansible Management and Administration
- Virtualization Management and Administration (VMware vSphere and vCenter)
- Storage Area Network (SAN) Management and Administration (Nimble, Pure Storage)
- Disaster Recovery Management and Administration of related tools, including backup and storage management (Veeam or comparable)
- Software Defined Networking (SD-WAN and SD-Access)
- Secure Access Secure Edge Networking (SASE)
- Zero Trust Networking Framework
The ideal candidate will be able to:
1. Architect & Deploy IT Infrastructure
The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing scalable IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms.
2. Maintain & Monitor Critical Systems
The role ensures the high availability and performance of missioncritical systems through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and performance management.
3. Lead Security & Compliance Operations
The engineer must design, implement, and manage security controls aligned with JEC’s Information Security Program and industry standards, including backup integrity and responding to security events.
4. Troubleshoot & Provide Support
The position requires diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues, offering seniorlevel technical ownership.
5. Manage Infrastructure Projects & Collaborate with Vendors
The role leads major initiatives such as system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments, while also collaborating with MSPs and external vendors.
