Overview
We are seeking a skilled VDC BIM Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) models to support commercial & industrial electrical construction projects. This role requires proficiency in various CAD and BIM software, along with a strong understanding of electrical design, schematics, and drafting principles. The VDC BIM Designer will collaborate closely with our VDC manager & project teams to develop accurate, efficient, and comprehensive digital models that enhance project coordination and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage 3D BIM models using software such as Revit & NavisWorks .
- Create detailed schematics, drawings, and construction documentation aligned with project design drawings and specifications.
- Incorporate electrical design elements into BIM models, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Perform 2D animation to visualize project workflows or construction sequences as needed.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure model integrity and compliance with project standards.
- Conduct clash detection and model reviews to identify potential conflicts early in the design process.
- Assist in the development of construction schematics and technical drawings for fabrication or installation purposes.
- Support project teams by providing detailed visualizations that facilitate communication among stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience with BIM software such as Revit, NavisWorks.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools including AutoCAD.
- Background in electrical design, drafting, schematics development, or related fields.
- Field experience with commercial & industrial electrical installation is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction processes and building systems integration within digital models.
- Ability to create clear 2D animations for project visualization purposes.
- Familiarity with industry standards for modeling accuracy and documentation quality.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage complex digital models effectively.
