Project Engineer
Title: Project Engineer - Food Manufacturing
Location: Thomasville, GA - ON-SITE (FULL RELOCATION ASSISTANCE)
Salary: $130,000-$165,000/Year + Benefits & Bonus
We're looking for a hands-on Project Engineer to support facility and process improvement projects from concept through execution. This role combines technical expertise with strong organizational skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with safety and quality standards. You'll work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to design solutions that optimize efficiency and meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Create and review technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD for equipment installations and facility modifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and support new product initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, and regulatory standards throughout project execution.
- Source and evaluate equipment vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee installations.
- Conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot technical issues during project implementation.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular progress updates to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with food manufacturing environments preferred.
- Food Manufacturing Experience
Experience
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Background in process design, equipment layout, or facility projects strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance is a plus.
Travel Requirements
10% - 25% travel may be required to support project implementation at other facilities, industry trade events, or vendor meetings.
- Regular presence on the plant floor is required for project coordination, installation oversight, and performance validation.
