Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer – Science & Technology will support research & development, quality laboratories, process development, and manufacturing by driving process optimization, scale-up, and technical problem-solving. Responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, transferring and validating processes, supporting quality investigations and root-cause analysis, and implementing robust controls and documentation. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with R&D, QA/QC, and production teams, strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills, and experience with process characterization, statistical methods, and continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Create new Release liner grades based on market and customer requirements.
- Communicate closely with customers and sales to determine product requirements and features.
- Run lab trials and create product prototypes.
- Organize and coordinate production trials.
- Test and evaluate trial materials.
- Analyze trial and customer data to make necessary product improvements.
- Support quality investigation.
- Create product specifications and testing protocols.
- Optimize our quality and production processes for our Release liner portfolio.
- Communicates investigation efforts, resolutions, and corrective actions to management and customers.
- Manage R&D and Quality labs with the necessary supplies and equipment.
- Performs other tasks as directed
Requirements
- 4-year BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical engineering or associated field of study. However, relevant experience will be taken into consideration in place of academic experience.
- Min. of 3 years’ experience in silicon coating, release liner or associated field.
- Preferred: Paper or Converting experience; Experience in solvent and solventless silicon systems; Knowledge in material science and extrusion coating.
- Experience in Adhesive Coating
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Structured and systematic work approach
- Well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Laboratory and coating make-up techniques
- Good communicator to all stakeholders
- Good computer skills including Microsoft programs.
- SAP experience is also preferred
