Oil & Gas Business Cycle Analyst (Contract – 12 Months)

Position Summary
The Business Cycle Analyst supports Exploration and Subsurface organizations by executing and maintaining the internal business processes required for efficient day-to-day operations across U.S. and international assets. This role works closely with technical teams, cost control, supply chain, and finance to ensure accurate system execution, compliance, and timely delivery of business objectives. The position requires a high degree of independence, attention to detail, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for creation, revision, and administration of Purchase Requisitions within SAP
- Prepare and submit accurate Purchase Requisitions based on approved quotations, contracts, and supporting documentation
- Develop and maintain milestone-based payment plans when required
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Finance, and other support functions to ensure efficient workflow execution and issue resolution
- Support cost control activities, including tracking, reporting, and business close-out support for Exploration and Subsurface teams
- Facilitate contracting and procurement processes while ensuring adherence to internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards
- Support invoice workflow troubleshooting and resolution
- Maintain business databases and systems with a high level of accuracy; assist in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Partner with Cost Control to ensure accurate cost allocation, tracking, and reporting
- Monitor contract lifecycles and proactively engage stakeholders to address upcoming actions or obligations
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable internal policies and external requirements
- Independently plan and execute assigned tasks to meet business requirements and deadlines
- Determine appropriate front-end process classifications, including departmental coding, cost allocation, and system categorizations
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive timely, results-oriented outcomes
- Operate with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within the oil and gas industry
- Experience maintaining databases and/or project management systems
- Proficiency with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred (purchasing and finance modules)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Spotfire
- Proficiency in French preferred
