Position Overview
CSD Environmental Services, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team based in Central Illinois. This position is ideal for an established Environmental Scientist looking for a dynamic role that blends office, remote, and field-based work.
The position includes a mix of:
- In-office work at CSD’s Springfield, Illinois office
- On-site fieldwork at project locations typically within 1–4 hours of Springfield, with same-day return
Occasional short-duration travel within Illinois or Missouri (generally 1–2 overnight stays a few times per quarter) may be required. All travel and overnight expenses are fully covered by CSD.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical reporting and documentation
- Construction observation and monitoring
- Environmental sampling
- Operation of air, water, and soil testing equipment
- Collaboration with project teams and clients
- Use of AutoCAD, Adobe software, and Microsoft Office Suite
Required Qualifications
- Education and/or experience in Earth Sciences, Geology, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering
- Experience in environmental fieldwork and reporting
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe, and MS Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting Annual Base Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
- Health insurance (medical coverage upon employment)
- Retirement plan: 401(k) with 3% employer contribution after one year of continuous full-time employment; full vesting after six years
