Staff Geologist
The hiring company is an established geotechnical and environmental consulting firm in Southern California with over 40 years of continuous operation and more than 20,000 completed projects statewide.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least two (2) years of experience as a field geotechnical technician
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with a geotechnical engineering consulting or related firm
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Field geotechnical sampling and logging
- Field percolation testing
- Compaction testing
- Soil gas well installation and testing
- Research of city grading files
- Laboratory testing of samples
Additional duties may include field observations during construction activities such as foundations, bottom inspections, shoring, pile drilling, and other engineering/geology support tasks, depending on qualifications and experience. All work will be performed under the direction and supervision of a licensed Engineering Geologist.
Preferred Credentials:
- EIT, GIT, and/or inspector certifications are encouraged
Requirements:
- Clean driving record
- Access to a personal vehicle for travel to job sites (company mileage reimbursement provided)
- Ability to routinely lift and handle up to 50 lbs. of equipment
Work Structure:
This position may include a hybrid work structure consisting of field, office, and limited remote work, depending on assignments.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay range: $30–$34 per hour, depending on experience
