About the Position
Altex Technologies Corporation is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Small Business. Altex is developing, producing and delivering innovative and high-performance thermal management systems, and heat exchangers, which can be deployed in vehicles, electronics, avionics, industrial/commercial equipment, and defense systems. We have 100% quality and 100% delivery product ratings from our customers, and recently a multinational, Fortune 500 prime defense contractor customer gave Altex the 2025 Supplier of the Year Award for our production work.
As a result of the growth in the Altex Heat Exchanger business, a position is now open for a dynamic candidate, with high level experience in the development, demonstration, manufacturing and deployment of heat exchangers and related thermal management systems. The candidate will lead the execution of new heat exchanger development programs for expanded markets, supporting system design, and prototype fabrication, testing, analyzing data and reporting results, and transitioning the technology to a product, as well as managing a supporting team. The position requires a BS, MS or Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering, and more than five years work experience, with emphasis in heat exchangers and thermal management systems, including management experience. Government supported project management experience is preferred, particularly in supporting defense systems.

- Management of heat exchanger, or thermal management system design, development, test, demonstration, and deployment, particularly defense systems
- Assisting in the formulation of business plans, based on heat exchanger or thermal management system developments
- Managing development efforts, under internal or external funding, meeting both task and budget targets
- Analyzing data and formally reporting results, according to Altex or Customer specifications, using computerized tools

Requirements
- Must be a US Person (lawful permanent resident, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or a protected individual, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
- BS, MS or PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years related work experience
- 2-5 years project management experience
- Some travel will be required
- Experience applying computer-aided analyses for design and test data interpretation
- Methodical in design of experiments and their execution
- Experience with data acquisition equipment
- Skilled in documenting activities and maintaining records
- Experience in transitioning tested designs to products
- Ability to manage time, resources and staff
- Good communication and team working skills
- Effective written communication skills
- Effective working in a rapid pace environment, and handling multiple projects, simultaneously
- Solidworks modeling, and execution of available Excel based performance models needed
- Experience in working under ISO 9001:2015 requirements desired

Company Overview and Benefits
Altex Technologies Corporation develops and commercializes innovative energy solutions, which are clean, quiet, efficient and cost effective. Innovations, related to this position, include developing, testing and producing novel heat exchangers that are smaller, lighter, lower pressure drop and less costly than conventional heat exchangers and thermal management systems. Also has developed and demonstrated microturbine based combined heat, cooling and power systems.
Altex provides a comprehensive benefits package to all full-time employees. Employees are provided three weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) and ten days of paid holiday. Our insurance programs cover medical, dental, vision, worker’s compensation and life insurance. Altex also has a retirement plan that employees qualify for after one year of continuous employment with the company. This program includes a tax deferred retirement account, which the employee controls through a family of mutual funds. Historically, the company has contributed 5-10% of the employees’ base salary to the employees’ accounts. In addition, bonus targets are set at the beginning of each yearly review period, which are executed if the staff meets the mutually agreed upon objectives. Our goal, in creating the compensation package, is to ensure that the staff is rewarded for making both Altex and themselves a success.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
