As a Water Treatment Engineer II, you will support the design, implementation, and optimization of water treatment solutions for mining and industrial clients. This role provides hands-on engineering experience across the project lifecycle while developing technical, regulatory, and project management skills under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.
Essential duties include:
- Support the planning and execution of water treatment projects from conceptual design through construction, commissioning, and optimization.
- Assist with engineering design of water treatment infrastructure, including treatment systems, pipelines, and storage facilities.
- Perform calculations, system sizing, and technical evaluations under the direction of senior engineers.
- Assist in the development of feasibility studies, technical reports, and engineering deliverables.
- Support risk assessments and hazard evaluations for water treatment systems and infrastructure.
- Assist with regulatory compliance activities related to water quality, discharge standards, and permitting.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project objectives.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with documentation of decisions and action items.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including work breakdown structures, RFIs, and technical logs.
- Support the development of project governance documents such as Project Execution Plans and QA/QC documentation.
- Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with guidance from the Project Management Office.
- Assist with change management documentation and internal approval processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on system performance, reliability, and sustainability.

Specific skills and experience are as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in engineering with a focus on water treatment projects in the mining sector preferred.
- Basic understanding of water treatment processes and engineering principles.
- Strong willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop technical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic engineering tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
