American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.
In this internship role, you will gain hands-on experience in the chemical engineering field, contributing to projects that drive efficiencies in our recycling and extraction processes. The intern will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers and researchers to come up with novel processes, analyze data, and support engineering design initiatives within our facility and future projects. Ideal candidates should be eager to learn and have a passion for sustainability in the energy sector. This role will provide valuable exposure to real-world applications of chemical engineering principles and processes.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Basic understanding of chemical processes and engineering principles
- Familiarity with safety protocols
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and contribute
- Interest in sustainability and the battery materials industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or research experience in a related field is a plus
- Experience with data analysis software or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is a plus
- Participation in relevant projects or extracurricular activities related to engineering or environmental science
