Job Description:
The QA tester role we're looking to fill is a full-time, in-person position at our offices in midtown Manhattan. We are a seven day per-week business with a much higher volume of activities at night than in the day. Most shifts would be from 3pm to 11pm ET. Fluid scheduling is a necessary component to our staff coordination. Candidates must be willing to learn about new, rapidly evolving technology, as well as the unique challenges and culture of the live TV production industry. Prior experience in the broadcast world is preferred however, backgrounds with similar industries will be considered too.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in software testing and quality assurance. You'll work closely with developers, product managers, live operations, and senior QA engineers to ensure our software products meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual test cases and document results accurately
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems
- Collaborate with development teams to understand new features and requirements
- Participate in test plan reviews and provide input on testability
- Assist in creating and maintaining test documentation
- Verify bug fixes and perform re-testing as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
- Assist with the set up and maintenance of systems used on live events
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
- Familiarity with computers, browsers, and basic troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or coursework experience in software testing
- Exposure to bug tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)
- Passion for sports media or broadcasting
- Understanding of different testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
