About the Role:
Why the role exists:
The Instructional Experience Designer is a classroom-based educator who serves as a learning architect—designing, facilitating, and iterating dynamic, immersive, and inquiry-driven learning experiences that honor student passions, unlock potential, and ignite curiosity. Grounded in the district’s redesign principles, the Instructional Experience Designer creates interdisciplinary, technology-enhanced, and real-world learning environments that integrate literacy, STEM, storytelling, gaming, and performance-based tasks to ensure every student engages deeply and thrives academically, socially, and creatively.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
1. Learning Experience Design (Immersive & Interdisciplinary)
Design interdisciplinary, standards-aligned experiences rooted in student passions (e.g.,
gaming, storytelling, animals, sports, building, art).
Leverage learning studios (e.g., Story & Stream, Maker & Motion, Play & Performance,
Community Studio) to connect literacy, math, science, and social studies through
authentic inquiry.
Incorporate immersive simulations, interactive story-based missions, eSports, and VR/AR
platforms into instruction to deepen engagement, promote critical thinking, and drive
rigorous content mastery.
2. Student-Centered Facilitation (Voice & Agency)
Facilitate learning that encourages choice, autonomy, and intellectual development.
Shift instructional stance from content deliverer to experience curator—guiding students
through inquiry, reflection, and exhibition of learning.
Use data and formative assessment to personalize and iterate experiences for maximum
impact.
Actively monitor and document student cognitive, social, and emotional development,
utilizing strategies to support asynchronous development and intense emotional
experiences.
3. Collaboration & Co-Design (Distributed Expertise)
Collaborate with other Instructional Experience Designers, specialists, and campus
leaders to co-design interdisciplinary projects and showcase events.
Participate in continuous improvement cycles and studio-based design sprints to
prototype and refine learning models.
Engage in reflective dialogue and public sharing of professional practice aligned to
Innovation Enterprise priorities.
4. Real-World Connection ( Purposeful & Student Centered)
Ensure all learning experiences are culturally relevant, inclusive, and responsive to
