Junior Financial Analyst with a multinational science and technology company in Washington, DC. This is a 9-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
Schedule: 100% remote located in Eastern Time or Central Time zone, regular working hours from 8 am to 5 pm
Description:
The Junior Financial Analyst will support OpCo’s Corporate IT Financial Management function by helping track, analyze, and report on IT cost for operations and initiatives across the enterprise. This role will partner closely with IT Finance, cost center & budget owners, and program leads to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and cost transparency. The analyst will assist in managing actuals, understanding variances, and modeling cost impacts for ongoing operations and IT transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytically strong, and eager to grow within a dynamic IT finance environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist in tracking IT spend (operational & projects), vendor invoices, and financial actuals to support cost transparency and governance.
- Work with cost center owners and invoice owners to update forecast based on timing
- Assist with month end accounting updates and reclasses
- Support monthly forecasting cycles by consolidating inputs, processing monthly finance feeds, reviewing variances, and preparing new forecast submission files.
- Perform analyses related to IT spend variances, OpCo cross charges, manual accruals, and amortization schedules.
- Maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting used for leadership updates and forecast vs actual tracking.
- Collaborate with IT, Finance and Accounting partners to gather data, verify financial assumptions, and improve cost reporting processes.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Finance and Accounting (required)
- Strong analytical and Excel/financial modeling and planning skills (required) with IT budgets (preferred)
- Familiarity with ETL and power query, financial systems, budgeting and reporting tools is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience working with Power BI, Dynamics365 and Limelight would be a plus
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. (required)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across IT and Finance organizations. (required)
- Curiosity, problem solving mindset, and willingness to learn IT financial management processes. (required)
