Our client, a leader in innovative cellular and connectivity solutions, is seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Connectivity Systems Department supporting the field deployment and optimization teams. Location: Foster City, CA
Pay Range: $78/hour + Benefits
What's the Job?
- Collaborate with deployment teams to analyze device and service performance attributes, ensuring optimal connectivity performance.
- Develop programmatic tools to interpret modem-level logs from chipsets such as Qualcomm and Samsung, identifying root causes of throughput drops and connectivity issues.
- Create automation solutions to facilitate large-scale data processing and performance analysis.
- Interpret key performance indicators and recommend system reconfigurations or architectural improvements to enhance quality of service.
- Work closely with system architecture and engineering teams to design and prototype connectivity solutions across 4G-LTE, 5G NR, WiFi, and GPS domains.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Expert-level knowledge of 4G-LTE and 5G-NR air interfaces, including PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NAS layers.
- Familiarity with IEEE 802.11 protocols and TCP/IP networking.
- Hands-on experience with modem-level chipset tools such as Qualcomm QXDM/QCAT and Samsung ShannonDM, along with Wireshark.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for complex network performance issues, including mobility management and interference analysis.
