Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developers to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical applications within a Defense Contractor secure environment, leveraging your expertise in legacy mainframe development and modernization. As a key contributor, you will develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL-based systems that support vital government operations, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. An active Department of Defense Top Secret (TS) or Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance is needed for the role.
Duties
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot COBOL applications using Micro Focus tools to meet project specifications and security standards
- Hands-on code conversion, compilation, and testing activities
- Configuration and integration support from source to target environments
- Maintenance and enhancement of COBOL-based applications
- Analysis of legacy systems, codebases, and data structures
- Implementation of fixes, updates, and performance improvements
- Support for functional, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Assistance with deployment, documentation, and knowledge transfer
- Collaboration with Client’s technical, business, and project management teams

Requirements
- Active Department of Defense Top Secret, Secret, or DOE L security clearance is required
- Proven experience developing with Cobol or Micro Focus COBOL
- Strong knowledge of mainframe-to-distributed system integration techniques
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies
- Experience with Visual Cobol is desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
