We currently have an opportunity for a 2026 Summer Intern at OSG in our Carol Stream, IL facility. This is a compensated internship with no health benefits or paid holidays/ vacation time and will run through the summer months of May – August.
Job Title:Software Development Intern
Position: Intern, 40 Hours/Week
Work Location: Carol Stream, IL
Onsite: 4 days a week
Responsibilities
- Build and ship real features alongside a team of interns, guided by a Sr. Software Engineer, not just closing tickets, but delivering functionality that users depend on
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including Anthropic's Claude Code, as a core part of your daily workflow to accelerate coding, problem-solving, and code review
- Collaborate in a team environment using modern software development practices including version control, code reviews, and iterative delivery
- Contribute to the design and development of internal systems and applications, gaining hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Work directly with engineering leadership to scope, build, and demo new capabilities, building the kind of portfolio work that sets you apart heading into senior year
Position Qualifications
We are looking for a highly resourceful and analytical college junior or senior student with the following attributes:
- GPA requirement: 3.0 GPA or higher
- Working towards Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program in Engineering/Technology, Business, or a related field.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and strong Excel skills preferred.
- Critical thinking/problem solving coupled with assertiveness to pursue necessary information to resolve issues.
- Intellectually curious with a passion for learning.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.
- Ambitious and capable of working independently; proactive attitude towards professional development.
