Reports To: This person reports to the Senior Designer.
Purpose
The purpose of the job is to create packaging designs that are desirable and meet the needs of the customer, while simultaneously following a design process that supports efficiency and quality in the production of products.This is NOT a graphic design position, but rather a job involving the design and prototyping of corrugated and foam packaging, on a daily basis
Essential Functions:
Looking for candidates with ArtiosCAD experience
Designer will create new product designs based on customer needs utilizing design request forms, customer renderings, or through strategic brainstorming.
Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings for product documentation and assembly.
Fabricate product samples in foam and corrugated using sample table and occasionally, production equipment.
Be available to assist sales representatives on customer calls in the field, when requested.
Create jigs, fixtures, CNC instructions and Assembly Drawings to assist Production department.
Maintain a central drawing library that organizes drawings, using revision control and making them easily retrievable.
Create/specify tooling layouts. Check-in new tooling and release to production.
Be available to complete short run production orders.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep a clean and organized workspace.
- Maintain a proper inventory of CAD supplies.
- Be available for training.
Qualifications / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Proficient in CAD design software (Artios CAD preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in packaging design preferred.
- Proficient in the use of a CAD table for prototype production (Kongsberg table preferred).
- Experience with other forms of CAD such as Autocad, Solidworks is acceptable

Physical/Environmental Demands
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle awkwardly sized raw materials.
·Work in a warehouse environment with temperature range of 50 degrees to 100 degrees.
