Gustavo Dudamel will become the Philharmonic’s Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Music and Artistic Director beginning at the start of the 2026-2027 season.
About The Role
The
People & Culture Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the People & Culture team and helping deliver a positive, inclusive employee experience across the organization. This role works closely with the Director of People Operations on people systems and processes and partners with the Director of Culture & Inclusion to support initiatives that foster connection, engagement, and a sense of belonging.

Your Day-to-Day
- You play a key role in coordinating pre‑hire and onboarding, creating a smooth and welcoming experience for new employees
- First point of contact for employee questions on policies, benefits, and P&C processes
- Maintain employee data in the HRIS/HCM, including benefits administration
- Support payroll and HRIS/HCM administration with the Payroll Manager and Director, People Operations
- Assist with workforce, benefits, and P&C data tracking and reporting
- Maintain HR and benefits documentation and support compliance and audits (including retirement plans)
- Support employee engagement, belonging, and learning initiatives
- Provide scheduling and administrative support to the VP, People & Culture
Qualifications
What you Bring to the Team
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orchestra personnel, payroll, or benefits administration role
- Experience in hospitality, arts, or cultural institutions preferred
- Experience supporting high ‑ volume recruitment, onboarding, or employee lifecycle processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting senior leadership is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
- Bilingual capability is a plus

Work Arrangement
This position operates in a hybrid work environment. Candidates should expect a regular in-office presence, particularly during the first several months, to support onboarding, relationship building, and operational integration. Ongoing hybrid flexibility is available based on role responsibilities and organizational needs.
