AutoCAD Construction Designer / Drafting Specialist

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per year (depending on experience)

Mallett Buildings is seeking an experienced Construction Designer / Drafting Specialist with strong AutoCAD experience to join our growing construction team.
Our company produces 20–30 buildings per week, so we need someone who can manage multiple design projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
This role plays a key part in ensuring our construction plans are accurate, detailed, and ready for field crews.
This is not a remote position. This role is fully in-person at our office.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop building layouts and construction plans
- Coordinate with project managers and field crews
- Review plans carefully to minimize design errors
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ensure plans meet building codes and construction requirements
- Maintain production timelines in a high-volume construction environment
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years experience in construction drafting or building design
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience using Excel
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Residential construction design experience
- Commercial building design experience
- Experience with SmartBuild
- Experience with metal buildings or structural framing
Salary
$80,000 – $85,000 depending on experience.
